Week 2- Marketing and Data skills

Social Media marketing has come a very long way, to the point that every business has to have some sort of internet presence. Whether you are a big business or a smaller one you have to be able to promote and know how to. By promoting a website organically you are able to see trends and data for the website and able to make decisions that will help for the better, whether that is paying for the data or free data. 

Because the world is heading into everything internet based it has led to businesses using more social media marketing. By being able to promote organically, such as Dr.Kelsey did with his web comic series, we are able to see that is what he is truly passionate about. Seeing and thinking of something I never would have thought about such as the quantum ecosystem. It was very interesting to read and think about it even being a video game!

By being able to organically promote his website he was able to attract new people into the quantum ecosystem that were originally never there. Not only attracting new people but also people who were already in the space and just wanted to learn more or wanted to build on it. When you promote your website you are able to attract people who actually are interested in the subject. and this could lead to a chain of effects and sharing of ideas and websites across many different people, thus adding value to your website.

Effects of Digital marketing

Based on the CASA article it is clear that digital marketing is as important as ever, I would say mainly because of the pandemic. Since the start of it all, more and more businesses have opened and more entrepreneurs have risen. Thus, leading to a more social media based and organically based companies to rise. The year 2021 seems to be seen as where digital marketing really takes off and become a "Top 5 hard skill". After talking with my sister who leads many social media pages, including her own, she says "digital marketing is where the world is heading and it is important for everyone to be able to promote and catch peoples attention." I agree because in this day and age everything is going online and as more and more peoples attention span decreases it is important to get straight to the point and in a way that makes people stay and follow you.
